Four Things to Start Doing for Your Marketing Strategy in 2018

Brand - 2018

As a new year starts, everyone sets out on a journey of improvement. We create health goals, diet goals, desire new habits and attempt to break old ones. Businesses often make new goals, too - more revenue, new customers, better customer experience, and more. Here are FOUR achievable goals you can incorporate into your marketing plan to see better results in 2018. (Plus there’s a bonus one if you read until the end!)

1. Start an E-mail List

And if you have an e-mail list already, segment it. E-mail lists provide numerous benefits to you and your business. For example, with all of the ever-changing algorithms social channels keep throwing our way, e-mail lists are a great way to ensure you are getting content straight to your audience. As you grow and segment your audience, you are able to target the messages you are sending. Want to focus on returning customers? Great! You can. Want to send information to prospective clients? You can do that, too!

2. Get Personal

In the digital age, consumers are desiring more and more true connection, so get personal with your audience! You can do this in so many ways. You can take the time to respond to comments, questions, and reviews left online. You can do Live Facebook and Instagram videos so viewers can get to know you. You can share behind the scenes pictures to show your office space, team, processes, and more. Consumers crave connection so get out there and get personal.

3. Use Video

Does this one really surprise you? Video is taking over social media these days. From the amount of viewers on YouTube to Boomerangs to Live options to Facebook’s video filled feed, it’s obvious we are in a video world right now. The best thing you can do for your business marketing plan this year is to start using video. Don’t wait until you create and film a professional commercial. Post quick, personal, easy-to-make videos and I promise you’ll see a difference in your engagement.

4. Utilize a Content Calendar.

I know, I know. Content calendars are so much work. You have to sit down and plan, create lots of content, and pre-post to the different social media channels. But hear me out. How many days and weeks go by that you aren’t posting at all or you keep posting the same three things because you get caught up in other business needs? Exactly. If you take the time each week or month to plan and pre-post different, strong content, your audience will love it.
